Decent motel at an affordable price. Beds are comfortable and rooms are clean, but the noise from neighboring guests seeps through. Breakfast offers a nice variety for a basic hotel, though the service is hit or miss. The weekend manager shines, but the checkout staff lacked enthusiasm. Maintenance could use improvement; the bathroom light and toilet issues were bothersome. The odor in the lobby wasn't inviting, and a motion sensor in the bathroom is unnecessary. Pleasant staff overall, but the owner's demeanor left something to be desired. Despite some setbacks, it was a restful escape. I’d return, but I hope for improvements next time.

Check-in was quick and friendly, a nice start. The room was clean and the soft sheets were a delight, but the bathroom light was a challenge. Breakfast, however, was a letdown—food seemed scarce, and what was offered, like the muffins, didn’t impress. The fridge needed adjusting, and the noise from neighboring rooms was distracting. I appreciated the location near attractions, but the overall experience was a mixed bag. Would I return? Maybe, but only with a few adjustments.

The room seemed to be outdated, and the facilities were not up to par. The ironing facilities were rusty and barely worked, which was frustrating as we needed to freshen up our clothes for an event. the air conditioning was not effective, and the room was either too stuffy or too cold. On the bright side, the heating did keep us warm during the chilly nights. We were looking forward to enjoying a cup of tea in the room, but the tea and coffee facilities were subpar. The coffee was of low quality, and the coffee maker seemed old and worn out. The free toiletries provided were minimal and didn't meet our expectations. The TV in the room was a flat-screen, but the channels were limited, which was a letdown. The housekeeping service was inconsistent, and our room was not cleaned when we arrived. The carpeted floor appeared dirty, and the bathroom sink was not very clean. The lack of attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness was evident and disappointing. the am/fm alarm clock was not working correctly, making it challenging to wake up on time. our experience at Der Ruhe Blatz was underwhelming.

I noticed a lingering odor that resembled dirty wet dog, which was off-putting. Dust accumulated under the bedside tables needed attention. The bathroom light didn’t stay on, which was inconvenient. I appreciated the easy access to parking right outside my door. The location was very convenient, with shops and eateries nearby. A bit more attention to cleanliness would enhance the experience significantly.

A perfect spot for our large family with its spacious rooms and excellent amenities. Our kids loved the unique setting and learning about the Amish craftsmanship.
My wife says that more kid-friendly activities would enhance the family experience.

During my city trip stay, I found that the location of the motel was very convenient, close to attractions and dining options. The room's sheets were fresh and clean, providing a comfortable night's sleep. Additionally, the breakfast offered was simple but sufficient, with options like cold cereal and fruit available.
The lack of housekeeping services for several days was disappointing. Issues such as running out of towels, broken toilet seat, and malfunctioning AC made for a less than ideal stay.

This place was super close to all the cool attractions like Shipshewana Lake, which is just about 3.5 km away, and the Michiana Event Center, only 1.5 km from here, making it perfect for a weekend stroll to take in the sights. I loved how friendly all the staff were, and the fact that we could bring our little dog made our stay even better, plus the hot breakfast in the morning was a nice touch;

the location was peaceful, allowing us to enjoy the tranquil sounds of nature, such as birds chirping and horses trotting by in the morning. The amenities provided, including a microwave, TV, ironing board, iron, blow dryer.
The breakfast area was small and required guests to carry their food back to their rooms, which was inconvenient. the sound insulation between rooms was poor, as we could hear the snoring of the guests next door.

We hit up 16 Amish families' spot, then checked out a super cool diner nearby. The vibe was chill, and we were close to everything we wanted - perfect for a fun weekend getaway!
That would've taken things to the next level for us party animals!

we stayed at der ruhe blatz motel and found it to be a perfect location for our trip. the check-in process was easy and quick. the beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well, which was essential during the hot summer days. we also appreciated the variety of cable TV channels available. the room was clean, and we were pleased with the friendly staff. being able to park in front of our room was also a convenient feature, and the location was close to everything.

The room was very clean and comfy, with soft cotton sheets and a nice selection for breakfast foods. The hotel had easy access to rooms from the outside parking area and good individual heating. The location is close to everything in town, making it convenient for exploring.
Felt well taken care of, no reason to complain.
